Referral Source Program
Referral sources are the key to proper coverage of durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies. To help referral sources understand the importance of documentation requirements and submitting claims correctly, The Orion Group offers a Referral Source Program. Either Providers or Referral Sources can coordinate these specialized training sessions. In addition to learning valuable information, the attendees can also earn CEUs for certain training programs if requested during the initial coordination.
Services
- Medicare 101 – The Referral Source program is designed to teach clinicians the basics of the reimbursement system. Referral sources will gain a greater knowledge of what is required to properly bill durable medical equipment, which includes understanding what medical necessity documentation is required. Since receiving proper documentation initially reduces the amount of time providers and clinicians spend on paperwork, it can ensure that the client receives the appropriate product in a timely manner, and that the provider receives proper payment from the funding source. This information creates a win-win situation.
- Evaluation Form & Documentation Development – As documentation requirements become more detailed and time consuming, referral sources are looking for the simplest way to ensure that their patients get the right equipment in a timely manner. Understanding that the documentation is the key, The Orion Group has worked with many facilities in the development of detailed evaluation forms that will cover most of their standard patient population. Having these specific forms allows referral sources to be sure that all clinicians in their department are providing all of the required information. This service can be completed via email and teleconference.
